Using Autosol Polish to clean underwater lenses

“I work in environmental sciences and my equipment is placed underwater on various coral reefs around the world. Some of the equipment has lenses for light measurements and they become bio-fowled and need to be cleaned insitu. Unfortunately this causes clouding and scratches on the lenses. Flitz NEW Liquid Headlight Lens Restorer System
Flitz has just made available their latest Headlight Lens Restorer System. What makes this product unusual is that it comes with a liquid and not a paste form of polish. Also included with the kit are a Flitz Mini Scuff pad to be used to remove very heavy yellowing and oxidation from the headlight lenses. After your headlights are clean also included with the kit is a small packet of Flitz Waxx to protect your newly cleaned headlights against the suns UV rays. Best of all the price point of this kit is around ten bucks. The kit is also good for use on tail lights, windshields, plastic camper windows, helmet face shields, boat hatches, light bars, faded bug shields, visors, Jeep windows, and more.
Important Safety Information: According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards: Section 392.33 Obscured Lamps or Reflector reads ” Operating a Commercial Motor Vehicle with lamps/reflectors obscured carries a Violation Severity Weight of 6; this on a scale of 1 to 10. In comparison, a fifth wheel’s defective locking mechanism carries a severity weight of only 3. So, it is more important and safer to keep your headlamps clear than to keep the brakes on the fifth wheel in good operational condition according to scale.
These violations are recorded at the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and a poor rating will take a carrier or driver from ” Continue to Operate ” to ” Unfit “. These violations stay on your record for 2 years and if found “unfit” the carrier or driver may not be able to continue to operate until the violations are cleared.

Simichrome Metal Polish Announces 2011 Prices
Noticed was sent to USA dealers and distributors on January 13, 2011 of the new price increase for Simichrome polish.
On March 1, 2011 , the list price will be $11.25 for the 1.76 ounce (50 gram) tubes, $33.65 for the small 8.82 ounce (250 gram) cans and $81.95 for the 35.27 ounce (1000 gram) large cans. That is a weighted average of 6.25 % increase in price. In fairness to Simichrome there has not been a new list price increase in close to 3 years. Simichrome is getting pricey, but still it’s an exceptional metal polishing product.
