3. Take a micro fiber cloth and rub off the Simichrome briskly. Flip the cloth to a clean spot and buff to the desired sheen.

4. Repeat steps 1, 2 & 3 for the locks escutcheon back plate. If desired you may tape off the lock set’s brass trim plate with low tack painters tape to help keep the pre-finished door styles clean on the patio door.

4. The Simichrome polish leaves a thin film that will help protect the brass lock set from corrosion for months.

Polish Guy Tip Polish Guy Tip : “For regular maintenance, periodically wipe down the lock set with a microfiber cloth. It is also great for taking off fingerprints and grime. Microfiber cloths polish surfaces streak free and lint free too.

September 10, 2008 · Filed Under Simichrome · Comment

This polish instruction tip shows how to restore and polish a dull chrome air cleaner that was on a 74 Harley Iron Head motorcycle using Simchrome Polish.

Simichrome Polish in a tube

Materials Used:

Application:

1. Apply a small amount of Simichrome polish about the size of a dime in about 7 or 8 places around the surface of the air cleaner cover. Spread the polish out evenly and rub it on with the finger tips of your nitrile gloved hand in small circular motions.

2. With a soft paper towel rub the entire bracket with the polish and remove excess, flipping the paper towel to clean areas and remove tarnish.

3. Repeat steps one and two until you are satisfied that the chrome dullnessis gone and the shine is beginning to be restored.

4. Then buff the cover with a microfiber cloth to a high shine. Simichrome will leave a film on the air cleaner cover that is not greasy. This retards corrosion and tarnish so your chrome accessories on your bike will look better longer. Elapsed time to shine this 7″ chrome air cleaner was well under 15 minutes.
